What we collect

If you join the list, we store your email address and which list you chose (launch or Windows), so we can send you product news. We do not build advertising profiles, run ad networks, or sell your data.

When you submit the form, our anti-bot provider and our server briefly process your IP address to check the request is genuine and to limit abuse (a short-lived rate-limit counter). We do not use it to track you across the web.

Legal basis & retention

We process your email on the basis of your consent (you asked to be on the list); the IP/anti-abuse processing rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the form secure. We keep list emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; anti-abuse counters expire automatically within an hour.

Who processes your data for us

We keep data minimal and use a small number of providers (sub-processors):

  • Cloudflare — website hosting, form storage, and the Turnstile anti-bot check on the signup form.
  • Our Merchant of Record (the payment provider, when you buy) — see Payments.
  • Our email provider (e.g. Resend or Buttondown) — only once enabled, to hold the list and send the emails you signed up for.

Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA. Such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).

Payments

Purchases are handled by our Merchant of Record, who is the seller of record and collects the billing details needed to process your order and remit VAT. We never see or store your card details.

Analytics

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We measure site usage with a privacy-friendly, cookieless method — aggregate visits plus a few non-identifying events (such as demo plays and trial-download clicks), counted server-side. It sets no cookies and builds no personally identifying profiles.

Licence activation

When the plugin activates or re-checks your licence, our server records the action, its result, and a salted one-way hash of your activation ID — so we can verify licences and count active installations. We do not store your IP address, email, licence key, or any identifiable device information for this. The basis is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the software.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies of its own. The Turnstile anti-bot check and, at checkout, our Merchant of Record may set strictly-necessary cookies required to provide those services. Because we use no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie consent banner.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and object to processing, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe; to have your data removed entirely, email support@comix.studio and we'll delete it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
